Semiconductor hardware is often sensitive to particles, trapped residue, cosmetic damage, and handling marks. Procurement teams get better quote clarity when they convert general cleanliness expectations into concrete part, packaging, and documentation requirements.

Define surface-critical zones

Mark sealing faces, vacuum-contact areas, polished zones, threaded gas paths, and any region where scratches or embedded contamination would create downstream risk. A note that the whole part must be “clean” is rarely specific enough for quoting or inspection.

Describe contamination concerns in practical terms

State whether burr control, media exclusion, residue-sensitive cleaning, glove handling, capped ports, or segregated packaging are required. If certain chemistries, tapes, oils, or marking methods are restricted, include those restrictions directly in the RFQ package.

Match acceptance records to the application

Request only the evidence that receiving inspection can actually use, such as visual condition criteria, recorded dimensions on critical surfaces, or material identity records. Clear acceptance language helps avoid arguments over cosmetic condition after the parts have already moved through shipping and unpacking.
